Vouches, Vouch Copies, and REP
  • Hello,

This Guide will hopefully help both new and old members understand what a 'Vouch Copy' is, how it works and when you can use it.

    -----

So the definition of a Vouch Copy is as follows:
"A Vouch Copy is when the seller, gives the buyer a free version of their service or product in return for a Vouch."

    So let's break that down:
    • The 'Seller' is the person who is selling the product or service, whether it is a Build, a Website, whatever.
    • The 'Buyer' is the person who is getting the product or service.
    • The 'Vouch' is a detailed review of the product or service.

Here are some examples of what a Vouch should, and should not look like:

"VOUCH!!!! THIS BUILD LOOKS AMAZING!!!!!!" This is not a good Vouch because the person 'Vouching' has not actually bought the build and is basically just expressing his or her option.

"Vouch! This user is very reliable, has great manners and is very professional, I would highly recommend his services." This is a good Vouch because it; A. Contains the word 'Vouch', B. Describes the user in question, C. Tell us whether or not the person giving the Vouch recommends the user or not.

    -----

Now we are going to move onto De-Vouches.

The definition of a De-Vouch Copy is as follows:
"When a user, who has perviously worked directly with the Seller, writes a bad review of the Seller because they did not like the Seller (or the Seller's work) for the reasons listed in the De-Vouch."

Once again, let's break it down:
    • The 'Seller' is the person who is selling the product or service, whether it is a Build, a Website, whatever.
    • The 'User' is the person who has written the De-Vouch.
    • The 'De-Vouch' is a bad review of the product, service or Seller in question.

Here are some examples of what a De-Vouch should, and should not look like:

"DE-VOUCH!" ✘ This is not a good De-Vouch because the person 'De-Vouching' has not described the issue with the product, service or user.

"DE-VOUCH!!!! OMFG THIS GUY SUCKS!!!" This is not a good De-Vouch because the person 'De-Vouching' has not described the issue with the product, service or user.

"De-Vouch, This user is rude, disrespectful and slow." This is a good De-Vouch because it; A. Contains the word 'De-Vouch', B. Describes the issue with the user in question.

    Rules

    A Vouch Copy can only be asked for via a PM as described in section 5 paragraph 8 of the Community Guidelines and Rules;
5.8 Do not ask for vouch copies on a thread. You may ask the thread starter via PM unless they specifically state that no vouch copies are available.

    -----

    Who, what, when, where

    Vouch Copies are
normally given to high rep (not reactions) members by lower rep members, this way the Seller (the lower rep person) can put the high rep person's Vouch on their Thread, Profile, etc...

    People who like the
service or product they were given may then post a Vouch on all of that persons Thread from then on (which is up to them).

    -----

    Rep?

Rep stands for Reputation, when a user (normally a seller) says "blah blah blah High Rep" they do not mean Reactions!

Reactions are the little Green number under a user's name on Threads, this number rises every time someone rates their post's. You can have a user with High Reactions and 0 Vouches, this does not make them reputable.

A user with High Rep, would be someone with a lot of Vouches, regardless of how many Reactions they have. So don't assume just because someone with a lot of reactions says they are Reputable that they are, because they might not be.
