  • Warnings

Warnings are a points based system MC-Market employs to measure violations which, by themselves, would not result in an immediate and permanent ban. This allows users who acquire these points to continue using the site as normal until they exceed a point benchmark which will temporarily suspend them for an increasing amount of time, allowing them the chance to reflect on their actions, familiarize themselves with our rules, and position themselves to avoid future violations. If a user is unable to better their behavior, the points will add up, and eventually lead to their permanent removal from the site, as they are provenly unsafe for our community.

    Suspensions

Receiving a warning doesn't necessarily mean receiving a suspension. The majority of the rules you can violate on MC-Market, by themselves, aren't worth enough points to get you suspended. Suspensions only take effect after you've earned enough points to hit a suspension benchmark. Avoid violating the rules in the future, and even if you've been warned, you may avoid ever receiving a suspension.
If you do happen to receive a suspension, it is because you have acquired the following:

    10 points - 4 day suspension
    20 points - 1 week suspension
    30 points - 1 week suspension
    40 points - 2 week suspension
    50 points - 2 week suspension
    60 points - 3 week suspension
    70 points - 3 week suspension
    75 points - Permanent Ban

Suspensions are automatic and cannot be lifted or reduced on an individual basis. This is to ensure fair treatment of all our members. Once suspended, the forums will become "read-only". Meaning you will be unable to interact with the site besides through support requests, scam reports, and private messages which you are already a member of or which are created by a staff member.

Also note that some lower offense warning points will expire. Expired warning points are no longer counted by the system, and so it is possible to hit a lower suspension benchmark multiple times instead of moving onto the next benchmark every instance that you are warned. Expired points will still be viewable from the "Warnings" tab of your profile, only visible to you and staff members.

    Appeals

You will almost always receive a private conversation from the staff member who has warned you for your actions. Appealing should be done within that private conversation immediately after receiving the warning, and should be done if and only if the warning was issued falsely. Being sorry does not mean that the warning was issued falsely.
Appeals for any user other than yourself will be denied.
Appeals for warnings received long ago will be denied.
Appeals for warnings issued before a rule change which resulted in those actions no longer being a violation will also be denied unless otherwise announced.

If you feel that a warning you received was issued falsely, respond politely to the staff member who has issued it. Remember that they are there to ensure fairness and the safety of the entire community. State your reasons for disagreeing, providing any evidence to support your claims, and ask that the warning be reconsidered.
If the staff member's final decision is that your actions were deserving of a warning you may ask for a second opinion from an administrator. Create a support request relaying the information presented in the conversation between you and the other staff member, and request for it to be looked at a second time. Patiently await a response. If your appeal is denied once more, respect that decision and accept the warning you've received. Ensure that the actions you took which resulted in the warning are not repeated.

    Verbal Warnings

Warning points given for the violation of a specific rule will be the same across users. However, there is a special warning which staff members may give at their discretion according to agreed practices by the team of which they are part. Verbal warnings are not counted by the system, result in no points or suspensions.
If you receive a verbal warning, be gracious. They do you no harm, and are meant by the staff member only to give you a second chance to do it right. They are for your benefit alone.

Verbal warnings are typically not given to the same user twice for the same violation. They are meant only to alert a user that their actions are considered a violation of our rules when they have reasonable excuse not to realize that what they're doing is a violation of our rules. The user is expected to follow this warning, and cease the activity they've been verbally warned for, immediately.
Verbal warnings are also used in good faith that the member will never need to be warned for it again, and that they were simply unfamiliar with the rule, either due to it's recent addition, or because the user is new. The user is expected to re-familiarize themselves with the rules immediately.

If you've been verbally warned for something in the past, expect to receive no verbal warning for it in the future should you violate that same rule again, because staff members make a hidden usernote on your profile for the rest of the team to read that you have been given a verbal warning for that action.

    Points

Every rule on the rules page has a warning and point value associated with it. You may view the rules here: http://www.mc-market.org/policies/rules/
The amount of points you receive for a rule violation will not change even if these points values change. It will remain the same on your profile that it was at the time of your warning unless otherwise announced.
As for the point values of these rules, though the may be subject to change, as of current, they are as follows:

Bear in mind the labels used for these warnings have been simplified for reading purposes. These warning labels are not necessarily the definitions of the rules which you are required to follow, and therefore you should always look to the official rules page and TOS for the current and accurate definitions.

It is your responsibility to know what our rules mean.
We provide you with the support request section, so that you may contact us there to clarify any confusion or misunderstandings you may have about our rules.
Utilize it, and save yourself from a warning you will not be able to appeal.
